Christmas in Michigan

We had a wonderful Christmas in Michigan. Torin got to see his nanny again, as well as meet his bompy, uncles, and aunts. I'm attributing his sudden increase in babbling noises to the talking and constant stimulation that he got from my family. He also got way too many presents, but I guess that's what grandparents are for :)

Taking photos has always been a big thing in my family, and my dad got us all cameras at a young age. True to form, he got Torin his first camera for Christmas. Here he is, contemplating the composition of his first shot...

First Flight

Here's the little man getting ready for (dreaming about) his first flight, on the way to Michigan for the Holidays. He did great, slept like...a baby.

Pre-Christmas in Tucson

Before leaving for Michigan, we had a little pre-Christmas in Tucson. There are not many pine trees here, so we did the next most obvious thing: decorated the Christmas Giraffe, of course!

What's more fun than spitting up? Why, spitting up and then rubbing your face in it, of course!

Indian Feast

Abir (and Janet...I made one dish, he made 6...) cooked up some tasty Indian food on Saturday for some folks from Abir's work. Dishes included coconut rice, potatoes, dahl, chana masala, eggplant, butter chicken, and mustard shrimp. We got some help with the nan from Trader Joe. The food was a big hit, as was Torin. He seems to love new people...although maybe not into girls yet (in the picture above he is being introduced to 7-mo old Fabiola...he's a little unsure about this chic trying to hold his hand...)

Just hanging around

Just thought I'd post some highlights of the week (the grandparents are getting restless for pictures :). So, let's see, we've been making lots of funny faces, we like to sit around waving our arms and legs, and, oh yes, flying through the air on daddy's hand is a new favorite activity.

Actually, it was a good week. I went to a seminar, so Torin got some quality daddy time.  Abir even brought him into work, to be oogled by the other geologists.  While it was hard to be away from him (and challenging to find places to sneak off to to pump in the middle of the day...gotta love that), it was good to be out and about.
